What is it.
The DPIA pre-assessment is an excel based tool which provides a faster way to identify potential pitfalls ahead of a full DPIA assessment allowing you to ask data privacy questions quickly and resolve issues similar to rapid prototyping in development world.
The system provides you with individual scores for each control area and an overall compliance score to give you an accurate sense of readiness to proceed to the full DPIA for the project you’re working on. The questions are aligned with GDPR, CPRA and NIST RMF to give you coverage over the main industry frameworks.
What problem is it trying to solve.
Many DPIA’s fail to meet their objectives and stall because of lack of planning before the process begins. This means that resources are not properly allocated, accuracy and completeness of documentation issues are found until long after the DPIA has started and there maybe misalignment with industry frameworks which was not properly identified.
This means that your DPIA process is much more likely to generate serious risks as proper consideration had not been given ahead of time.
What are some of the key features?
The assessment worksheet Includes 55 control questions covering 8 privacy control areas which are aligned to GDPR, NIST RMF and CCPA/CPRA. A very useful feature if your complying with multiple privacy regulations.
Each control has a Y/N / Not Applicable and notes field to document your compliance and any follow-up actions.
It includes risk assessment scoring self-assessment for each control area.
It gives you an overall score, >= 90% being in the green zone.
Automation features including buttons to print or email the form, reset form and help notes.
The coding base is left without a password so you can access the backend VBA to customize any features.
